Since last Friday night I have been kept awake by a haunting vision… a man in bedazzled regalia stands at the mic in front of a crowd, speaking at (AND THROUGH) me with the unsettling sounds of a whale beached upon some dystopian starshipped future.
A half-week older, stronger, and more open to a world of dynamic horror, I have come to realize that man was Henri Fabergé (of The Adorables).
Now, through the miracle of digital technology, we invite YOU to watch as this petulant poet takes the wraps off his new material…
Wednesday August 25 at Tiger Bar (414 college st w, below Crown & Tiger) doors 8:30pm // $10 // 19+
we’re proud to present ‘Public Publication’, the brand-new EP from Halifax’s
RICH AUCOIN
SYNCHRONICITY IS THE KEY to Rich Aucoin’s mind – his multidimensional live show combines the band, audience, and an elaborate video backdrop into one dish and serves it straight to your brain, an interactive experience that has left audiences literally floored from coast to coast.
he’s also played with some bands you might like, such as Dan Deacon, Girl Talk, Deerhoof, Weezer, Caribou and Japanther http://www.myspace.com/richaucoin
. .
opening the show are two bands with Montreal’s fantastic Arbutus Records:
David Kleiser just emailed me asking about cassette tapes; see this guy is a forward thinker and yet a reverse-activated dynamo, that’s why his songs make sense both ways // his bandmates for tonight are members of the incomparable HEARTBEAT HOTEL, fresh from recovery and at least partially nude http://www.myspace.com/bloodrexdaleandthewallsareblonde
10:30pm – ALPHABOT (t.o)
is a beast with a man’s body, a robot’s mind, and the voice of an angel octopus — he may have a six-piece band!! or he may have six hands to play violin, keyboards, loops, guitars, and blow kisses simultaneously http://www.myspace.com/jakeroels
10pm – HENRI FABERGE (t.o)
Henri Faberge can’t get enough of that sweet stuff!! and the honey bees flock to him like he was Nicholas Cage… there’s gonna be some surprises and new stylin’s in store for this set, but check out the history of the illustrious Adorables HERE
Oz Studios is showcasing Alexandra Mackenzie and Tomas Del Baso’s incredible large-scale pieces at the moment! we’ll have most of them under wraps during the show to avoid damage, but if you see something you love, please BUY IT!
DOLDRUMS montreal debut!! with amazing friends and fammery. take a hike, grab a bike, change your name, maybe spike the punch with grape-flavoured smell-ess-dee
