whoa this past week has been craazzzaayyyyy!
4 shows in 4 days in toronto… FRIDAY we kicked things off with the Doldrums/Tropics show at Double Double Land
then SATURDAY around 6pm, after recording an album with Hut that afternoon, myself, Dan Lee and Alex Low were sitting on the porch thinking “why can’t it be last night again?? we should play a show tonight!!” /// what followed could only be described as a Wayne’s World-esque dream come to life, in which we called everyone in town till we found somewhere we could play, tweeted the shit out of it, and by midnight were playing a jam-packed show at an apartment above the Crooked Star on ossington. it even resulted in a craigslist missed connection. photos n vids coming soon!
SUNDAY night we had a last minute show at the buddhist temple at 918 Bathurst with Montreal’s the Hidden Words, featuring 2/3 members of the original Unicorns.
Tonstartssbandht had to drop out of MONDAY’s show at the Silver Dollar due to a misplaced weather balloon, but Makeout Videotape and Hut killed it regardless… then we found this amazing video of Hut’s show last month at the St Clarens Garage – Dan reminds me a little of biggie in that “19 years old rappin on the corner” video, no???
